Troubleshooting
If scans are not working as expected, use the checks below.
Extension is installed but no verdict appears
- Confirm the extension is enabled in your browser.
- Ensure your VirusTotal API key is present and saved.
- Reload the page and test again.
API key errors
- Recopy the key from your VirusTotal account.
- Remove accidental spaces before or after the key.
- Check whether your VirusTotal plan has reached quota.
Slow or inconsistent responses
- Verify network stability.
- Retry with a different webpage to rule out site-specific issues.
- Wait briefly and retest if the API service is rate-limiting requests.
